Bio:
Ram Garage Racing is a father-son team that has taken a regular ass mustang and turned it into one of the baddest sn95 mustangs on the planet. Matt Ramirez and his father Jim Ramirez have been building their 2004 Mustang GT out of their home garage for the past 5 years. Between their normal day-to-day jobs, they spend their nights and weekends either in the garage or out on the track. Their mustang is now 1 of only 2 mustangs in the country to run a Cortex SLA front suspension that has transformed the handling of the car. QA1 mod shocks, carbon fiber driveshaft, and an Exedy stage 4 twin-disc clutch round out just a few of the more recent modifications that keep the car on top of the leaderboards. What separates Matt and his dad from the competition is their thirst and hunger for success. They constantly discuss ways to improve the car even further after each race with a never-ending list of future-mods.

Ever since Matt attended the SEMA show in 2016, his sights were set on the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car competition across the country. Matt competed locally at SCCA and NMCAWEST autocross events over the last three years to enhance his racing skills and dial-in the car. Their efforts paid off as the car has qualified two years in-a-row for the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI). The car was on display at the international SEMA show in 2019 and has been featured on six episodes during the last two seasons of “Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car” tv show on MAVTV. At the 2020 OUSCI, Matt placed 11th overall in Design and Engineering and 14th overall in autocross against the top street cars in the country. The car has had its share of challenges with some rare and unfortunate engine failures, but no hurdle has been too high to overcome. Every setback has been an opportunity to learn and improve the car. The challenge of competing against modern muscle cars has been a rewarding experience and the team is just starting to hit their stride.
